Shows We’re Excited For 7/8 – 7/14: Slightly Stoopid, Brian Wilson, Halsey & Taste of Chaos Tour

The first full week of July features a pair of mini-festivals.  Here are the shows that we’re really excited for in the upcoming week:

Slightly Stoopid @ Mesa Amphitheatre on 7/8

Slightly Stoopid brings their Return of the Red Eye Summer 2016 tour through the Phoenix area on Friday, July 8.  The tour is almost a mini-festival with four additional bands on the bill –  SOJA, Zion I, The Grouch, Eligh.  Note that the doors open at 4:30 with the show announced for 5:30 making it a full evening of music.  The show is at Mesa Amphitheatre with the outdoor venue contributing to the festival feel of the show.

Brian Wilson @ Celebrity Theatre on 7/9

Brian Wilson of Beach Boys fame will be at the Celebrity Theatre on Saturday, July 9.  The tour is a 50th anniversary celebration of the Beach Boys album Pet Sounds, which was released on May 16, 1966.  The album may not have had significant critical or commercial success upon its initial release, but with the passage of time it has grown to significant critical success, often being described as one of the most influential rock albums of all time.  If you don’t have your tickets yet, however, you’ll have to look to a reseller because the show is officially sold out.

Halsey @ Comerica Theatre on 7/12

Best known for her song New Americana, Halsey will be bringing her tour in support her August 2015 debut album Badlands to the Comerica Theatre on July 12.  New Americana was certified Gold in the U.S. and continues to garner critical reviews.  The second show of the Badlands tour was actually in Scottsdale on October 1, 2015, at LiveWire.  If Halsey’s career continues on the trajectory it’s on, this may be your last chance to see her in a fairly intimate venue because her next time through the Valley may be an arena show.

Taste of Chaos Tour @ Comerica Theatre on 7/14

The Taste of Chaos Tour is another mini-festival coming through the Valley on July 14 at the Comerica Theatre. Co-headlined by Dashboard Confessional and Taking Back Sunday, the bill also includes SAOSIN and The Early November.  The first band is at 6:30, Taking Back Sunday is at 8:15 and Dashboard Confessional is at 9:40.
