Holiday Shows 2016

As the holidays approach, the major radio stations in Phoenix have settheir holiday concerts and they’re pretty good.

Merry Mixmas – December 3rd @ Livewire

mixmasMix 96.9 is bringing a  3 act show to Scottsdale’s Livewire on December 3rd.  The bands include

  • O.A.R.
  • Blue October
  • Wrable

Tickets are $35.00.  The doors open at 7:00 for this all ages show.  Tickets are available here.

Alice Cooper’s 15th Annual Christmas Pudding – December 3rd @ Celebrity Theatre

While not technically a radio show, it is worth a mention because, like always, it features a solid line-up consisting of:

  • Hollywood Vampires (Johnny Depp and Joe Perry)
  • Sammy Hagar
  • Korn
  • Gin Blossoms
  • Magician Murray SawChuck

Christmass Pudding is an annual fundraising show hosted by valley resident Alice Cooper.  VIP rows 1-4 are already sold out, but tickets at $120.00 and $225.00 are still available.  The show is a fundraiser and proceeds from the concert go to benefit Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center. The show will be at Celebrity Theatre and tickets are available here.

Ugly Sweater Holiday Party – December 12th @ Mesa Amphitheatre

ugly-sweaterThe second annual AltAZ Ugly Sweater Holiday Party is at the Mesa Amphitheatre again.  Another great lineup this year includes:

  • Kings of Leon
  • The Head and the Heart
  • Band of Horses

This is an outdoor show so dress accordingly, but a couple beverages and it should be just fine regardless of what the weather might hold.  Tickets start at $63.00 in advance and $68.00 at the door on the day of the show, which is a bargain considering that similar GA tickets are going for more than $200 each for Kings of Leon’s upcoming tour beginning in January 2017.  Doors open at 4:00 and the show starts at 6:00.  Tickets are available here.

Holmberg’s Happy Ending – December 16th @ Celebrity Theatre

John Holmberg of the KUPD Morning Sickness is hosting his 2nd annual Happy Ending Comedy Show.  It’s comedy and not music, and not specifically holiday themed, but since I listen to Holmberg in the morning I thought I’d give it a mention.  The show features:

  • Ralphy Mays
  • The Smash Brothers
  • Brad Williams

Tickets run from $30.00 – $45.00 and are available here.
